有多少位建筑师和建筑评论家就有多少个关于建筑学的定义。虽然有些人赞成将其视为艺术,但其他人则将建筑所承担的重要社会责任视为其最明确的属性。一旦谈及“建筑学是什么”,就意味着大胆开启了一个充满争议性的议题。可是每当我们埋头苦干于重大项目或是思考为何选择了这条职业道路时,大部分人或多或少会扪心自问——“建筑学究竟是什么”。
很多时候,从事建筑设计有如苦行;然而有时,它却能给予人极大的满足感。也许,最重要的是,建筑学本就具有较强的适应性及变化万千的可能性。
这个语录的合集揭示了瞬息万变的建筑学含义;不同场合下我们会赋予建筑学以不同的定义,可能是我们与同僚讨论时,或是调整措辞向外行解释时。
